Quick fire round with Alex!

Who would Alex have round for dinner?

Who would be your dream dinner party guests and why?

Tough one but I’d definitely have Ernest Hemingway to start things off. I’ve always loved his quote, ‘“Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing.”

Great start. Who else?

Bowie. A legend who was always able to re-invent himself and push the boundaries. However, I’d really like another musician - maybe Mavis Staples. She has seen so many changes in not only music but also society. No party is complete without music. Two such creative people would make for a hell of a conversation.

Any more?

Sure, the more the merrier! With quotes like, “Wine can be a better teacher than ink, and banter is often better than books.”, I would be hard to skip Stephen Fry. Funny and exceedingly intelligent, he seems to be someone who can keep any conversation going.

Last orders. You can have one more person.

Michelle Obama. Humble and considerate but I imagine incredibly clever and considered I would love to get into a few glasses and hear about all her time being a complete boss at life.

So, you’ve got your guests. What would you serve?

Easy! Outdoor barbecue. Nothing is better! Being able to talk to your guests whilst you cook and serve wine is essential for me. Whilst my cooking needs some work.. I love to entertain in a relaxed setting before sitting down for a long meal.
