wine education > Switch Up Your Seasons
When seasons change, it’s an opportunity to look at changing our wines.
This doesn’t mean we need to be radical, it’s just about doing things a little differently and looking at traditional pairings in a new light. At Jacob’s Creek we call it Season Switch Up.
But it’s not just about breaking away from the expected. We tend to stick to what we know when it comes to drinking wines in specific seasons, but we think we should turn that around.
Traditionally, white wines are paired with all things summer, as are sparkling and rosés. But have we ever asked why? Rosés have a place in the cold months too. While red wine and red meat may be the traditional winter pairing, rosés pair equally well. Try a glass while curled up by a fireplace in winter, or in a comfy armchair with a good book. The seasonal “usual” isn’t a mandatory. Rather than pairing your wine with the weather outside we believe that you should drink to occasion and personal taste. If you haven’t tried switching up your seasons, you may be pleasantly surprised by the new pairing you create. And with as many wines as we have in our range to choose from, the possibilities are endless.
